It all started with a little black dress. She revolutionized fashion by using jersey fabric that was comfortable and affordable—unheard of at the time. She replaced structured silhouettes with functional yet flattering options—in essence, she embraced flapper style, but went a step further and rebelled against the feminine standards of the time.

Way back when, Coco’s outright rebellion with women’s fashion caused the press to keep wanting more. Today, Chanel’s storytelling continuously convey’s Coco’s idea that “in order to be irreplaceable one must always be different,” and is one of the reasons why Chanel is and always will be timeless, irreplaceable, and keep us wanting more.
