As you’re well aware, Memorial Day Weekend is rapidly approaching. I don’t know about you, but all of us at VPM are already beginning to drift into vacation mode. What better way to continue procrastinating until the weekend than with some necessary fashion tips from our in-house fashionista! Today, Maria gives you a couple of quick, go-to tips when switching up your attire from an office, casual Friday look to the perfect MDW outfit.
“As the weather is warming up, it’s time to introduce cool tones into your wardrobe. What better way to do this than on Memorial Day Weekend! One of the biggest rules of fashion (and most commonly known) is no white pants before Memorial Day. Therefore, it’s finally time to take them out of your closet for all to see. Below, I’ve put together two sets for men and women that will work for your weekend activities (all including white pants, of course), along with notes of two of my own go-to rules I always stand by:
Tip 1: Don’t be afraid to show your patriotism and pair your white jeans with nautical prints. Nautical prints are a summer staple and a great alternative to consignment T-shirts that you will never wear again.
Tip 2: Keep your accessories neutral to avoid a harsh contrast against your summer whites. A Panama hat will keep you stylish and protect you from the sun. Be sure to keep a blazer or knit sweater handy for cool nights.
Each of these classic pairings can also be worn as office friendly, causal Friday options, which means it’ll be easy to switch from office mode to vacation mode this week.
Have a great weekend, and happy travels, NYC!”
