What comes to mind when you think of the ’80s? We’ve all got our own picture of this decade—long permed hair, decked out leather attire, neon, Pac-Man, Cabbage Patch Kids…the list could go on forever. When it comes to music, most people today will immediately think of Madonna and Michael Jackson. But, what about a-ha, or Joan Jett, or Soft Cell, or Run DMC (as in Reverend Run from the MTV show Run’s House)? From early ’90s born babies to those whose prime years were spent in THE decade of the hair bands, everyone in the office at VPM gave us their favorite songs that totally define the ’80s. Check out a few of them below, and listen to the entire playlist on our Spotify!
Joan Jett, The Blackhearts — I Hate Myself For Loving You

Janet Jackson — Rhythm Nation
Wham! — Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go
