Graphic Design students from CUNY Borough of Manhattan Community College toured Village Print & Media’s headquarters as a hands-on approach to learning more about the design and print industry.

Joe Ryder, Director of Sales, covered hot topics from offset printing to how we communicate with clients–Joe commented that he “loves talking to students in order to understand their perspective on current trends. Their insight helps keep our brand fresh.” Janet Esquirol, Professor of Media Arts at CUNY BMCC, chaperoned the students, stating she chose Village Print & Media because of our prime location and “outstanding web design.”

After the tour, we held an open dialogue with the students, discovering their talents, influences, and design favorites. What did we learn?

GUESS, the New York City Ballet, and Uniqlo have the most eye-catching advertisements, according to the BMCC design students. Upon graduation, many of the students want to centralize their focus in editorial, logo, and fashion design–all were deeply impressed with our hot-off-the-press sales brochures for Ann Taylor.
