As the season changes, design trends follow suit. With summer’s passing, warm familiar colors of autumn and rustic textiles reminiscent of the countryside can be seen everywhere from storefront windows, to magazine spreads and lookbooks, to stationery materials for events, like invitations and place cards. Last week, our Senior Art Director, Simone Takacs, of our high-end stationery department, Village Invites, gave us some insight on various design trends to look out for this fall. Grab a pumpkin spice latte and check out 3 of the most popular trends in print and stationery designs this season:
Copper Foil
Foil stamping is a great way to create a striking design that is both professional and creative for print marketing and event materials. This fall, copper toned foil is reining over all. Whether it’s incorporated in your design or typeface, copper toned foil stamping will make your printed pieces look and feel warm, inviting, and on point with the season.
Textiles
Textiles are making a comeback. Wrap bows and belly bans created with hemp and twine are being used on invitation suites for all kinds of events, giving printed pieces an unrefined, DIY feel, while emulating the rustic essence of fall.
Floral Prints
While we’ve already said so long to summer, we haven’t bid farewell to florals just yet. Expect to see lots of floral patterns in deep chocolates and espresso browns on everything from envelopes to invitations to posters.
