If you’re lacking a little inspiration, get your headphones out and look no further. Thanks to YouTube and Vimeo, lyric videos have been popping up all over the place for awhile now. Whether it be amateurs or award winning film studios, everyone seems to be taking a swing at creating work that utilizes kinetic typography. While moving type can be seen in all kinds of video formats, from movie title sequences to commercial advertisements, its use in music videos is one of our favorite applications. In recent years, we’ve seen more kinetic typography used as artists and their agencies are challenged to create work that separates themselves from the masses. Below, we’ve compiled a list of recent music videos making use of the technique that’s become our latest obsession.
