“The only thing more beautiful than New York is New York in Black and White.” This is the description of the popular Instagram account blackandwhitenyc, and we couldn’t agree with it more. When color is stripped away from a photograph, you’re left with an image that is very raw and real, sometimes mysterious or even magical—which is exactly what New York City is. Curated by a group of photographers and NYC enthusiasts, this gallery is made up of stunning black and white photographs of Manhattan’s cityscape from thousands of different accounts via the hashtag #BlackAndWhiteNewYorkCity. We’re so inspired by this gallery that we’ve even taken some pointers from it to curate VPM’s Instagram. From street scene views of the Empire State Building to dark corners under the Manhattan bridge, one thing we can guarantee is that this account will make you fall in love with New York City all over again.
