With Memorial Day just behind us, the approaching slew of fun events at Bryant Park will help us kick off the summer. Besides being our neighbor, we love Bryant Park for constantly providing a space for us to educate ourselves while also being entertained simultaneously. If you work in Manhattan, it would be a crime not to take advantage of their free summer programs. Some of our favorites are below:
Summer Film Festival
-Every summer, Bryant Park offers free movie viewings on Mondays at 5pm on the main lawn.
-This year, it starts on June 16thand runs until August 18th—the full schedule is on their website.
-How can you miss classics like Saturday Night Fever, The Shining, or The Mark of Zorro?
BPM Shakespeare
-On Thursday, Fridays, and Saturdays, a Shakespeare play is performed in May and August at their Upper Terrace Steps venue—the full schedule is on their website.
-From May 15th to May 31st, Hamlet will be performed at 7pm all three days.
-From August 14th to August 30th, Love’s Labor’s Lost will be presented at 7pm all three days.
BPM After Work
-On Wednesdays from 6pm to 7pm located at the Fountain Terrace.
-This year, the program runs from June 18th to August 27th featuring outstanding bands and songwriters curated by Obie award-winning Ethan Lipton and acclaimed East African vocalist Somi.
