This week you might have noticed people walking head-on into traffic or running around the streets like animals without a cause. Some of you may think this is normal New Yorker behavior (totally understandable), while many others are truly concerned. We can assure you that there is nothing to fear, as these loose cannons are simply joining the hundreds of thousands world wide playing a new digital Pokémon (yes, Pokémon) game using this technology you might have heard us mention once, twice, or even three times before called Augmented Reality.

Whether you’re a gamer or not, most people are familiar with Augmented Reality (AR), a technology used to digitally enhance views of the real world in order to create interactive and engaging opportunities for consumers through striking graphics, animation, video, audio, and 3D content. As interest and investments in AR are sky-rocketing (way beyond this newly revived Pokémon fad) it’s clear that this technology is proving its potential to help companies and brands interact with their consumers on an entirely different level. What seems to still be unbeknownst to many is what the real advantages are to using and implementing AR.
